Over the past few weeks, we’ve noticed more clients sending inventory to us that cannot be shipped through Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). If this has happened to you recently, you’re not alone — and there’s a clear reason for it.
Amazon has started enforcing restock limits at the product (ASIN) level. That means some items may be restricted from inbound shipments, even if others are still eligible — and even if you’ve sent that same product in before without any issue.
Here’s what’s happening, how to check your eligibility, and how to avoid purchasing or prepping inventory that Amazon won’t currently accept.
What’s Going On?
Amazon now calculates restock limits for each individual ASIN, based on a combination of:
-
Forecasted customer demand
-
Your sales history for that product
-
Current inventory levels across Amazon’s fulfillment network
If Amazon determines that you have excess inventory of a particular product — or that it’s not selling quickly enough — they may block that ASIN from being included in any new shipments.
This change has led to situations where sellers can send in some products without issue while others are completely restricted.

Why a Product Might Be Blocked
A product may be restricted from inbound shipments if:
-
You already have a high volume of that ASIN in the FBA network
-
The product has poor sell-through or inconsistent demand
-
Forecasted customer demand is lower than your current inventory
-
Your inventory for that product has been sitting too long without sales
These restrictions are dynamic and can change week to week.
How to Check If a Product Can Be Sent for FBA
Before you send inventory to us — or place a restock order — we strongly recommend checking your restock status inside Seller Central.
1. Restock Limits Monitor (ASIN View)
-
Check the Restock Limits Monitor in the Inventory Performance menu on Seller Central
-
Switch to ASIN view
-
Search for the product you plan to send
-
If the Available Quantity is 0, that product is currently restricted from inbound shipment
2. Restock Inventory Page
-
Go to: Inventory > Inventory Planning > Restock Inventory
-
This page gives you a broader view of restock recommendations and inbound eligibility
-
Products with inbound restrictions will be marked accordingly
3. Manage Inventory Health
-
Navigate to: Inventory > Manage Inventory Health
-
Look for high levels of aged inventory or low sell-through, which can lead to restrictions
What to Do If a Product Is Restricted
If a product is blocked:
-
Do not send it to us unless you plan to hold it elsewhere
-
Focus on selling through the inventory already in Amazon’s fulfillment system
-
Create removal orders if needed to reduce excess stock
-
Monitor restock limits regularly — they often refresh weekly
-
Only purchase and prepare inventory that is currently eligible for inbound
A Final Reminder
We are currently at full storage capacity and are unable to offer storage services for inventory that cannot be shipped for FBA. For this reason, it’s critical that you check ASIN restock eligibility before sourcing or shipping inventory to us.
Sending blocked products causes delays and unnecessary handling costs — and it can all be avoided with a quick check in Seller Central.
